Twitch emote and Discord emoji sizes
Every number here is from Twitch’s or Discord’s own help pages (read October 2026). Where they don’t give a number, we don’t make one up.

How to make Twitch emotes from one image
- Choose your image. A square drawing with a transparent background works best, but any PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF works.
- Pick Crop to square to fill the emote, or Fit whole image to keep all of it with transparent space around it. Drag and zoom to frame it.
- Check the chat preview. At 28 px, small details and text disappear, so zoom in on the face or the main shape.
- Download the zip, or each file on its own. On Twitch, turn auto-resize off to upload the three sizes yourself, or leave it on and upload only the 112 px file.
FAQ
What size are Twitch emotes?
Twitch emotes are square, at 28 × 28, 56 × 56 and 112 × 112 px. With auto-resize on, Twitch takes one square image between 112 and 4096 px under 1 MB and makes the three sizes for you. With auto-resize off, you upload all three yourself, which is what this tool makes.
What is the file size limit for Twitch emotes?
For a still emote uploaded in three sizes, Twitch says each file must be under 100 KB. A single auto-resize file can be up to 1 MB. Animated GIF emotes can be up to 512 KB per size in manual mode, or 1 MB as one file, with at most 60 frames. The 25 KB limit you may have seen is for subscriber badges, not emotes. This tool shows each file’s size next to its limit.
Can I resize an animated GIF emote?
Yes. Drop in an animated GIF and the Twitch emotes and Discord emoji come out as animated GIFs, with every frame cropped the same way and the timing kept. If the GIF has more than 60 frames, the tool keeps 60 of them by default, because Twitch allows no more. If a file is over its limit, keep every 2nd frame or use fewer colours. Sub badges and the sticker are made from the first frame, because Twitch badges are PNG only and Discord’s animated stickers need APNG, which this tool doesn’t make.
My image isn’t square. What happens?
Twitch and Discord need square emotes. Choose Crop to square to cut a square out of your image (drag to choose which part), or Fit whole image to keep all of it and fill the rest with transparent space. Padding adds transparent space on every side.
What size should Discord emojis be?
Discord says you can upload emojis up to 128 × 128 px, and that they are resized to 32 × 32 px. The file must be under 256 KB and can be JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP. This tool makes a 128 × 128 PNG, or a GIF if your image is animated.
What size is a Discord sticker?
Exactly 320 × 320 px, PNG, up to 512 KB. Discord shows stickers at 160 × 160 in desktop chat. Animated stickers have to be APNG, so this tool makes a still sticker.
Does this tool upload my image?
No. Your image is read, resized and zipped by your browser, on your device. You can check: open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab, and resize an image. No request carries it. The only request the page makes on its own is an anonymous page-view count with no cookies and no file data (see privacy).
