How to make an LRC file

    1. Load the song. Choose or drop an audio file. It plays in your browser and is never uploaded.
    2. Paste the lyrics. One lyric line per row. Empty rows are skipped. Use your own lyrics or lyrics you have the right to use.
    3. Tap in time. Press play, then press Space (or Enter, or the Tap button) the moment each line starts. Slow the song to 0.5× or 0.75× if the lines come fast; the times stay correct.
    4. Fix and check. Press −0.1 or +0.1 to move a line, or press a time to play from there. While the song plays, the current line is highlighted. To redo part of the song, press the first line you want to redo and tap again.
    5. Save. Add a title, artist, album and your name if you like, then copy the text or download the .lrc file.

What the .lrc file looks like

LRC is a plain text format. Each line starts with a time tag in minutes, seconds and hundredths of a second, then the words:

    • [00:12.50]First line of the song shows the line at 12.5 seconds.
    • [ti:Title], [ar:Artist], [al:Album] and [by:Your name] at the top describe the song and who made the file.
    • [offset:+200] moves every line by 200 milliseconds; a plus shows the lyrics sooner.

LRC is an informal format with no official standard, so players differ in what they read. This tool writes only the common parts above. When you open an .lrc file, a line with several time tags (a repeated chorus) becomes one row per time, and word-level <mm:ss.xx> tags are removed, because this tool times whole lines only.

    FAQ

How do I make an LRC file for a song?

Load the song, paste the lyrics one line per row, press play and press Space each time a new line starts. Fix any line with −0.1 or +0.1, then press Download .lrc. Give the file the same name as the song if your player looks for lyrics that way.

How do I fix lyrics that are a little early or late?

To move one line, press its −0.1 or +0.1 button. To move every line by the same amount, set the offset in milliseconds; a positive offset shows the lyrics sooner. You can also open an existing .lrc file here and fix it the same way.

Does it time the lyrics automatically?

No. There is no AI and no automatic sync: you tap each line yourself while the song plays. That keeps everything on your device, and the times are where you put them.

Does it support word-by-word (enhanced) LRC?

Not yet. This tool makes line-by-line LRC. If you open a file with word timings, the line times are kept and the word tags are removed.

    How exact are the times?

Each tap records where the player is, rounded to a hundredth of a second, which is the precision of an LRC time tag. Your own reaction time matters more, so check each line with the highlight and nudge it if needed.

Does this tool upload my song?

No. The audio and the lyrics stay in your browser on your own device and are never sent to a server. You can check: open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use the tool. The page counts visits and finished copies or downloads (tool name only) with analytics that sets no cookies, and no audio or text is ever sent (see privacy).
