Made with this tool using the default settings: Typewriter font, bar cursor, 10 letters a second and a 1.5 second blinking pause.

How to make a typing text GIF
- Type your text. The preview types it out as you go. Press Enter for a new line.
- Style it. Pick a font, text size, width, alignment and colours, or a clear background.
- Choose a cursor. Bar, block or underscore, or none. It stays solid while typing and can blink during the pause at the end.
- Set the timing. Speed is in letters per second. The pause at the end holds the finished text before the loop starts again.
- Download. Save the GIF, or a WebP or MP4 if your browser can make them.
How the timing works
- One frame per letter: each character gets its own frame, so 30 characters at 10 per second take 3 seconds. Spaces count as characters.
- Rounded to 1/100 s: a GIF stores each frame's delay in hundredths of a second, so the delay per letter is rounded to that. The fastest setting, 30 per second, becomes 0.03 s a letter.
- Blinking: during the pause at the end the cursor turns off and on every 0.5 s.
- MP4: a video has no loop setting of its own; whether it repeats depends on the player or the site you post it to.
FAQ
How do I make a typing text GIF?
Type your text in the box above, pick a font, colours and speed, then press Download GIF. The text appears one character at a time, followed by a pause, and then the animation starts again.
Can the cursor blink?
Yes. Keep Blink during the pause at the end ticked. The cursor stays solid while the text types, then turns off and on every half second until the loop restarts. Choose No cursor to hide it.
How do I make the text type faster or slower?
Move the Speed slider, from 1 to 30 letters a second. The download shows the delay each letter gets and the total length of one loop.
Can I make it with a transparent background?
Yes, tick Clear (transparent) background. In a GIF each pixel is either fully clear or solid, so the edges of the letters are hard rather than smooth. The WebP keeps smooth edges. MP4 video has no transparency and uses the background colour.
Can I save it as MP4 or WebP?
Yes, when your browser can make them. WebP needs a browser that can save WebP images. MP4 needs a browser with an H.264 video encoder (WebCodecs). If yours cannot, the button stays off and a note says so; the GIF works in every browser.
Is this the chat "typing…" dots GIF?
No. This makes typewriter text: your own words appearing letter by letter. It does not make the three-dot typing indicator used in chat apps.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The animation is drawn and saved by your browser on your own device. You can check: open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and use the tool. No request carries your text. The page counts visits and finished downloads (tool name only) with analytics that sets no cookies (see privacy).
